New Human-Computer Interactions Using Tangible Objects: Application on a Digital Tabletop with RFID Technology
This paper presents a new kind of interaction between users and a tabletop. The table described is interactive and associated with tangible and traceable objects using RFID technology. As a consequence, some HumanComputer Interactions become possible implying these tangible objects. The multi-agent architecture of the table is also explained, as well as a case study based on a scenario.
متن کاملEnhancing Interactive Tabletop Workspaces with Tangible Contexts
In this paper, we introduce our concept of tangible contexts in the field of seamless interaction in shared workspaces between mobile devices and tabletop systems. We model the context as a relationship between a user, the user’s mobile device and objects on the surface of an interactive tabletop system. The tabletop represents the public part of the context and the mobile device embodies the p...
متن کاملTangible Tracking Table: an interactive tabletop display
We developed Tangible Tracking Table (TTT), an interactive tabletop display that allows both fingertip and tangible object tracking. Multiple users can simultaneously control a variety of tagged objects that can perform different tasks. We also introduce several applications on TTT that utilize the advantages of this tangible user interface.
متن کاملFrom automation to tangible interactive objects
Automation led to many innovations for a long time, most of them were developed during the twentieth century. It was commonly thought as a layer on top of a mechanical system. It promoted system management over low-level control. The more information technology evolves, the more it takes a fundamental part in our lives. This article describes a paradigm shift where automation will no longer be ...
متن کاملLearning to Order Objects Using Haptic and Proprioceptive Exploratory Behaviors
This paper proposes a novel framework that enables a robot to learn ordinal object relations. While most related work focuses on classifying objects into discrete categories, such approaches cannot learn object properties (e.g., weight, height, size, etc.) that are context-specific and relative to other objects. To address this problem, we propose that a robot should learn to order objects base...
